At Victor Pizza Company, our journey began in the heart of Glasgow as a humble family-owned bakery rooted in quality and tradition. In the early 1970s, an Italian fish and chip shop owner approached us with a unique request: to create a pizza that could be fried, reminiscent of his family's traditions in Naples. From this collaboration, the beloved 'Pizza Fritto' was born—a deep-fried, battered delight that has since become a Scottish classic, now available in nearly every fish and chip shop across the country.

Our Product Range

At Victor Pizza, we pride ourselves on offering a diverse selection of products tailored to meet the needs of our clients:

Chippy Pizza: Our signature deep-fried pizzas, available in flavors like Cheese, Onion & Mushroom. Supplied fresh or frozen in cases of 24, they are a staple in Scottish chip shops.

Topped Pizzas for Wholesalers: We produce high-quality, fully topped pizzas that are supplied to wholesalers across Scotland and beyond. These pizzas are made using our expertly crafted bases and premium toppings, ensuring great taste and consistency for food service businesses.

Dough Balls for Fresh Pizza Making: Our standard 180g dough balls (also available in 210g) are supplied frozen to caterers, restaurants, and wholesalers, allowing for fresh pizza preparation with authentic texture and flavor.

Nutritionally Balanced Pizzas for Schools: Understanding the growing demand for healthier food options, we have partnered with Eat Balanced to produce nutritionally balanced pizzas for schools across the UK. These pizzas are low in salt, rich in essential nutrients, and meet dietary guidelines, ensuring that children enjoy delicious meals without compromising on nutrition.

The Great Fried Pizza Debate (or Lack Thereof)

Now, before anyone gets too excited, let’s address the elephant in the fryer—Naples’ beautiful, delicate, handcrafted pizza fritta and our beloved Scottish fried pizza are, well... let’s just say distant cousins who barely acknowledge each other at family reunions. The Italian version is a sophisticated masterpiece; ours is cheerful, absolutely dripping in nostalgia (and oil), and—let’s be real—not going to cost you £20 like a certain well-known takeaway chain. In fact, you can get a full one for as little as £4. Is it refined? Absolutely not. Is it delicious at 2 AM when you’re standing outside a chippy, contemplating all of life’s choices? 100%. It might not be winning any awards for authenticity, but hey, this is Glasgow—we do things our own way. And if that means taking a pizza and deep-frying it into submission, so be it. Long live the Scottish fried pizza!
